- Poncha Lumber originally came into existence in 1960 as Knotty Pine Lumber and was located behind the Jackson Hotel in Poncha Springs. In 1999, Poncha Lumber was purchased by the Chelf brothers, Dave and Steve, with their vision to expand Poncha Lumber from a small lumber yard into a full service building center.
- In 2004, the new lumber yard was built on Highway 50, allowing Poncha Lumber to grow into the operation it is today. The expanded yard and full line hardware store occupy 3-1/2 acres and 13,000 sq.ft.
- Poncha Lumber specializes in sales of lumber, hardware, windows & doors, paint, and cabinetry. Because we cannot carry every product available in our rural area, we've developed the ability to order from hundreds of vendors with thousands of product to serve your needs. WE DELIVER to all surrounding areas!
- After almost 17 years, Poncha Lumber is no longer installing insulation. The insulation business is still locally owned and operated in Chaffee county by Keith & Dina Hampa of Buena Vista under the name of Mountain Paradise Insulation & Construction, LLC – 719-239-0193.

Winter Yard Hours
While the store is open to 5:30pm on Weekdays, the yard will be closing at 5:00pm for the winter. Yard and Store will be open from 8:00am to 5:00pm on Saturdays.
